H. Chase Lenfest Charitable Work

H. Chase Lenfest has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Police Athletic League since 1999. In addition, Mr. Lenfest volunteers his time and provides financial support for specific programs, such as PAL Night as the Sixers, PAL Night at the Phillies, and the PAL Scholarship Foundation.

Mr. Lenfest served on the Board of Directors of SquashSmarts, Inc. from 2000 and 2002 and has served on their Advisory Board since 2002. SquashSmarts combines the sport of Squash with Academic Tutoring and Mentoring of under-served, urban youth in order to develop self-esteem and discipline through academic, athletic and personal achievement.

Mr. Lenfest is the President of The H. Chase Lenfest Foundation, Inc. The Foundation began operations in 2002 and provides financial support for programs intended to make a positive impact on the lives of children primarily in the economically challenged areas of Philadelphia, including the construction and operation of a 50,000 sq. ft. facility in North Philadelphia, The Lenfest PAL Center, which serves children in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia. The facility also provides space to the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia and squash facilities for SquashSmarts.

Additional organizations that have received funding include Face to Face at St. Vincent's summer camp, Philadelphia Outward Bound, The Joe Hand Boxing Gym, The Gesu School, Dream Camp and PAL Scholarship Foundation and other grants to organizations whose mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of economically disadvantaged youth from the inner city of Philadelphia.
